The pool of engineering job openings in the area of engineering include positions like energy engineering manager, engineering coordinator, engineering associate, engineering analyst, engineering manager, civil engineer, mechanical engineering, hydraulics engineer, and engineering consultant. The responsibilities for most engineering positions in this area may include one or more from: visiting energy generation plants, guiding workers, participating in policy formulation, taking part in training of workers, troubleshooting the plant machineries, performing maintenance work for plant facilities, working on new projects, performing research in this area, keeping updated on related concepts and performing several others duties assigned by the manager. An engineering professional in the energy sector should have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a relevant degree. A master’s degree may be required for senior positions. Excellent academic credentials are required. Prior experience in this field may be advantageous.
