The loan I wanted for a trip

This coming January I want to take my wife on a trip down to Bolivia to visit with her parents. We had not been down to Bolivia in close to six years and it was about time we were able to go down there. After doing some financial figuring I realized that I would need roughly $5000 for this trip to be worthwhile. Because of this i need a 5000 loan fast. One of the options I had available to me was using one of my Visa cards. Instead of doing this I went out to my bank and talked with one of my bankers to see if there was another way to go about getting this type of money.
